RAAH GEER Obstacle Avoiding Robot

RAAH GEER — Obstacle Avoiding Robot

RAAH GEER is an obstacle-avoiding robot designed for reliable autonomous navigation in cluttered environments. Built to be robust and easy to maintain, RAAH GEER focuses on dependable sensing and control rather than experimental hardware. It is ideal for demos, competitions and practical obstacle-avoidance tasks.

Key specifications: 14 V battery (4-cell pack), 4WD high-traction drivetrain, and a static sensor array of 3 ultrasonic sensors giving wide-field proximity awareness. Control is handled by an Arduino Uno R3, with L298N dual H-bridge motor drivers delivering power to the motors. The electronics and motor selection are tuned for steady torque and responsive steering under load.

"Sense quickly. Steer smoothly. Avoid confidently."
- Team RoboSapiens (RAAH GEER)

RAAH GEER's three ultrasonic sensors are mounted statically to provide forward and angled coverage; the sensor fusion and simple finite-state control allow it to detect obstacles early and choose the best avoidance maneuver. Combined with the 4WD setup, the robot performs stable pivot and drive maneuvers for tight obstacle fields.

The platform runs compact Arduino-based code for fast loop times and predictable behavior. The L298N drivers provide reliable motor control for brush DC motors; battery management and motor protection are included to ensure consistent competition performance.
